Michael Wan
I'm a Research Scientist in the AI+Health group at Northeastern University's Institute for Experiential AI, working out of the Roux Institute campus in Portland, Maine.
My research is in computer vision and applications to health and biomedicine. Specific interests include:
video monitoring of human health and physiology, and video assessments for pediatric neurodevelopment,
biomedical image analysis in cell and tissue microscopy and pathology,
machine learning methods for domain adaptation, including to specialized study populations or data domains, and
vision–language models and visual reasoning in health AI.

I grew up in Toronto, did my HonBSc in math, physics, and philosophy at the University of Toronto, and completed my PhD in mathematical logic at the University of California, Berkeley.
